State of the Watershed Conference 1997
October 9, 1997
Radisson Hotel
Sacramento
The Sacramento River Watershed Program co-sponsored the State of the Watershed Conference 1997 with the Sacramento Coordinated Water Quality Monitoring Program on October 9, 1997 at the Radisson Hotel in Sacramento. The conference was a great success
with 165 attendees. The agenda included both technical and watershed group presentations as well as a terrific poster session with informational materials on many programs within the watershed.
Sacramento County Supervisor Illa Collin, Leah Wills from the Plumas Corporation in Quincy and Debra Caldon from the City of San Jose kicked off the conference with excellent motivational presentations on the State of the Watershed. The morning presentations
were highlighted by panel discussions of the challenges facing the watershed and ways that diverse groups interact with each other to correct these problems. The afternoon was filled with individual success stories that can be used as examples of ways
to manage watershed issues.
