Magalia Forest Health Tour – Exploring Prescribed Fire

Wednesday, March 21, 2018
9 am - noon
Paradise Lake Recreation Area, Magalia, CA

Please join us for a tour through the forest in the Little Butte Creek Watershed. Areas of forest health thinning and watershed protection will be reviewed on both US Forest Service and Paradise Irrigation District lands which have been funded by a grant from the Sierra Nevada Conservancy. Local forest health experts will share insights into how landowners can keep their forests healthy and how the community can work together to protect forests from wildfire. The tour will take place in an area where prescribed fire could be conducted and serves as an exploration of the application of this forest health tool. The tour will be hosted by the Butte County Fire Safe Council. This is a rain or shine event and comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
Directions: Take Skyway Rd. to Coutolenc Rd., turn Left on Lucretia Rd., and follow it to the Paradise Lake Recreation area parking lot
