SRWP works to engage partners across the basin in the process of promoting sustainability and watershed health…. essentially working with watershed communities and stakeholders to build capacity wherever and however it is needed most. The majority of the watershed is rural and often lacks the information, technical expertise, and other resources needed to effectively address local concerns and issues.
Effective watershed management requires cooperation and communication that requires a great deal of work and unfortunately, this type of work is often marginalized and not easy to finance. By facilitating open lines of communication and information sharing among stakeholders and keeping apprised of programs, policies and initiatives, SRWP works to ensure that watershed goals are developed, implemented and effective in achieving desired outcomes.
